Drawn to You

Working in animation isn’t the fairytale picture like the movies paint, and animator Phoebe Nix is officially drained. Stuck as a PA at an animation studio after losing out on a big promotion, living in a derelict North Hollywood apartment, and drowning in art school debt, Phoebe is on the verge of quitting her dream industry altogether. But when her best friend submits her original animated series idea for a competition at work, Phoebe is chosen as a finalist and assigned a mentorship with her industry idol.

Now Phoebe’s dreams of creating her own animated show are closer than ever, but disastrously, her apartment’s explosive plumbing leaves her completely stranded on her lousy salary, jeopardizing her chance at winning the contest altogether. Enter not-so-Prince Charming, Sam Park, the notoriously aloof showrunner of the number one hit series at work, who offers Phoebe his very charming bungalow as a rent-free place to stay… on one condition. Sam needs her to be his fake date to industry events to appease his Hollywood-elite father. Not only can Phoebe not stand him after he insulted her character’s design, he’s one of the judges on the panel for the contest. But desperate times call for desperate charades, and Phoebe won’t risk losing it all. Especially not when she’s so close to the ultimate win.

As the competition at work draws in and the industry fake-dates go from one catastrophe to the next, the charade with Sam starts to render into something more and more not-so-fake, and Phoebe discovers that drawing the life she always dreamed of has never been quite so sketchy.
